This CD features a selection of tunes which Joe Strummer has shown a love for over the years, has recorded or performed under one of his many guises, or played on his own radio show, which was broadcast on the BBC World Service shortly before his untimely death. The roots of Joe’s musical inspiration come from many sources, numerous different parts of the world and encompass styles as diverse as Ska, Blues, Folk, Columbian and good old Rock n’ Roll, but one thing links every track included here; they all have an enormous dose of soul – much like the man himself. The track list and extensive sleeve notes in the accompanying 16-page booklet are compiled by ex- ZigZag editor, the legendary Kris Needs – one of the few journalists Joe and the rest of the Clash ever trusted.
