Although primarily regarded as a songwriter, the importance of the music that influenced Bob Dylan throughout his career cannot be overstated. This CD brings together, for the first time, the original versions of songs that Dylan recorded on albums ranging from his first record in 1962 (Bob Dylan, largely made up of folk and blues standards), right up to albums recorded in the 90’s such as Good As I Been To You which again went back to his earliest influences. Featuring 27 tracks from artists as diverse as Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly through to Frankie Laine and The Ink Spots, this collection illustrates what an eclectic range of music has affected one of the most influential artists of the rock era.
