New Yorks finest, the Strokes triumphant return to the charts and the live arena this year made for one of the more stimulating music experiences within an otherwise fairly mundane period for music. And, as they have done many times before, the five lads from the Big Apple supplied some much needed energy, craft and excitement into a plodding indie rock scene and with their normal good humour, sassy NYC style and songs to die for, proved yet again what a force to be reckoned with the band remain. This 2 disc package celebrates The Strokes first decade - yes, its a full 10 years since This Is It... blew our collective minds - by way of a spoken word CD biography, interviews on disc, poster, illustrated booklets with rare photographs and more, all housed in a collectors edition box set. So as the group move into their next phase we can all remember this first glorious period of the Strokes, and as we look foward in anticipation of what will come next, we can also cherish everything that has come before.
